Project Description
Restoration
Repairs & Restorations
Porcelain is restored using museum restoration techniques and replacement parts are manufactured in our studio when needed. Composition is mended and painted to achieve restoration without looking new. Rocker eyes are repaired and reset or replaced with reproduced mechanism; wigs are mended, cleaned, set and styled or replaced when necessary. Leather and cloth bodies are mended and patched where possible or replaced. Clothing can be cleaned, mended, or replaced with custom, period fabric and styles.
Each project is carefully evaluated and a detailed, estimate of work is created which will list each step or task accompanied with the estimate cost for each. The estimate is made available for reviewed by the owner to ensure that the scope of work and all specific tasks are correctly identified. No work will be done until we have an agreement of what steps to be accomplished.
Once the estimate has been approved, the project is assigned a number and prioritized base on project type and first come first serve. For example, a simple stringing or wig replacement is something that can usually be accomplished in a week or two but those projects that include sculpting, air brushing or costuming, because of the complexity, labor intensity and cure times between work sessions may result in the process to take several months.
Work estimates are free of charge and you are under no obligation.
If you would like an estimate and are not able to visit the studio, you are welcome to ship the item to me. Make sure to include your request of what you would like to have addressed as well as your contact information. Email is also helpful to expedite the estimate review process
